A Cold Day in Hell...I mean Cranbourne...

This shoot for Mylund - a major client of mine - and Onley Homes resulted in an architectural and commercial image that I have not been asked to do many times in my career. Now I know why I haven't minded. After a couple of decades of pro shooting you find that you get to shoot just about everything. All I remember was that it was a cold evening in Cranbourne as I waited for the setting sun to do its stuff...Next time I am packing my Gortex!

My Other Passion

My other passion is singing. Here I am with pianist Jonathon Cox at the National Theatre singing "My One and Only Love" and "What a Difference a Day Makes". I don't often get to perform with live musicians or at this kind of venue, so it was all just too much fun! Ah, 'but can the guy actually sing?', you may ask. Shelton Speaks At Essendon

On Monday the 26th of June I will be speaking at Essendon Camera Club, 134 Buckley St, Essendon, Melways ref 28, F4. The subject will be People in Photographs and is a Powerpoint presentation discussing techniques behind successful images of people. The presentation begins at 8pm and will go for about an hour. I look forward to seeing you there!

Shoot with Dan Paris and Keira Ballis for Kodak Australia

I had the pleasure recently of doing a shoot for Kodak Australia, for whom I do quite an amount of photography....which is great. I mean, which photographer doesn't want the worlds greatest imaging company for his major client? Anyway, the shoot involved working with Dan Paris, formerly of Neighbours and who now writes for my magazine Total Image. Dan is an accomplished photographer in his own right. I also had the pleasure of working with Kiera Ballis, a young model who worked above and beyond the call of duty in terms of hours spent and effort expended. The images will be seen at Kodak Stand at the upcoming industry PICA Expo in Sydney at the end of April.

For Keeps Magazine cover

Funny how a simple window light portrait can actually achieve more for you than an image that is perhaps honed over hours of lighting tweaks. This once again proves that sometimes simple is best. It was taken using my Nikon D100 and my favourite portrait lens, my 85mm at f1.8.
